Overall I like the box a lot, I will/would know better if I could test it and hopefully that will never come to fruition. Metal thickness is on the thinner side, more so than I thought it would be anyways. Not sure how much "explosion" this box would be able to take, hmmm. My only real negative is assembly; of the small bolts that go to the 2 swivel hinges. The inner (nut) side is very hard to thread on with that folding inward lip of the top cover. I got it finally with the help of a telescoping magnet and a lot of patience.

Charging usage wise: My Wired 72V front and rear battery fits w some space (yes, both at the same time). Doing a laser Box temp test, the warmest during charging was only 2 to 3F over room temp. Everything stayed pretty cool TBH. I think there's plenty of ventilation with this box, but then again, most of my heat during the charge process is within the air cooled chargers which I had outside the box. So adding charging within this box does not add hardly any noticeable heat. Ride safe everyone and hope this review may help others :)

I live in a condo and recently new bylaws prohibited charging E-Bike batteries in our units. I keep my battery and a spare battery in the battery box which I keep in our bike storage room. I charge directly from the box and it works well. Thanks

I must have overlooked that the box arrived completely unassembled — not even the latches were attached. The angles and alignment of the screw holes made assembly incredibly difficult, and several screws refused to tighten fully. This raises serious doubts about how reliable or functional the explosion box would be in a real-world scenario. I’ll hang on to it, but I wouldn’t recommend it to others based on the overall quality.

4 stars because shipping took a month...
Hopefully it does what it says.
I hope I never have too find out if it does.
Might buy another so I don't have 2 batteries in one box
